Part 4
Which Disney Resort Pool Is Right for Your Family?
After three articles, dozens of pools, countless waterslides, and enough tropical scenery to make you wonder whether you’re booking a Disney vacation or moving permanently to Florida, we’ve finally reached the most important question.
Which Disney resort should your family actually choose?
There isn’t a single correct answer.
The “best” resort depends entirely on who is traveling with you, how your family vacations, and what kind of memories you hope to make.
Some families spend fourteen hours every day inside the parks and only return to the resort to sleep.
Others schedule full resort days around the pool.
Neither approach is wrong.
The goal isn’t to find Disney’s best pool.
The goal is finding your family’s best pool.
If You Have Toddlers…
Life revolves around shallow water.
Splash pads.
Shade.
Frequent bathroom breaks.
Afternoon naps.
You’ll appreciate zero-entry pools far more than a massive waterslide.
My Recommendations
🥇 Art of Animation
🥈 Polynesian Village
🥉 Kidani Village
These pools provide younger children plenty of room to safely splash while allowing parents to stay close without constantly chasing them from one end of the pool to the other.
💙 Dad Tip
Young children rarely care how tall the waterslide is.They care whether they’re having fun.
Sometimes a splash pad creates bigger memories than the biggest pool on property.
If Your Kids Are Elementary School Age…
This is Disney’s sweet spot.
Kids are adventurous enough to enjoy waterslides.
Young enough to still love imaginative theming.
Old enough to spend hours swimming.
Best Choices
🏆 Caribbean Beach
🏆 Coronado Springs
🏆 Beach Club
These pools provide enough excitement that leaving for dinner may become the biggest challenge of your day.
If You Have Teenagers…
Teenagers want freedom.
They want excitement.
They want something that doesn’t feel “babyish.”
That’s where larger pool complexes shine.
Best Choices
🥇 Stormalong Bay
🥈 Coronado Springs
🥉 BoardWalk
Older kids can spend hours exploring, swimming, and hanging out without feeling like they’re in a kiddie pool.
If Dad Wants to Relax…
Let’s admit something.
Dad deserves a vacation too.
After planning flights…
Hotels…
Dining reservations…
Lightning Lanes…
Packing…
Driving…
Carrying backpacks…
And paying for everything…
Sometimes Dad simply wants to sit beside the water.
My Favorite Resorts
🏆 Wilderness Lodge
🏆 Riviera Resort
🏆 Old Key West
These resorts have a slower pace that encourages you to stay awhile instead of rushing back to another attraction.
😂 Disney Dad Reality
You finally find the perfect lounge chair.- Five minutes later…
- “Dad, watch me!”
- Twenty minutes after that…
- You’re somehow in the pool playing shark attack for the seventeenth time.
Families on a Budget
A lower price doesn’t have to mean a worse vacation.
Disney’s Value Resorts continue to surprise first-time visitors.
Art of Animation remains my favorite because the Big Blue Pool creates an experience that feels much larger than a traditional hotel pool.
Pop Century is another excellent choice thanks to its Skyliner access.
Families Planning Resort Days
If your family intends to spend an entire day enjoying the hotel…
Don’t compromise on the pool.
Book the resort you’ll actually use.
Best Resort Day
🥇 Beach Club
🥈 Wilderness Lodge
🥉 Caribbean Beach
The pool becomes the attraction.
First-Time Disney Families
Keep things simple.
Avoid choosing a resort because someone on YouTube called it “underrated.”
Choose convenience.
Choose transportation.
Choose a pool your children will love.
You’ll never regret making vacation easier.
My Top 10 Resort Pools

Final Thoughts
At the beginning of this series, I told you something important.
Disney doesn’t simply build pools.
They build destinations.
Now, after looking at every resort, every waterslide, every splash area, and every tropical oasis across Walt Disney World, I hope one thing stands out.
The perfect resort isn’t always the most expensive.
It isn’t always the biggest.
It isn’t always the newest.
It’s the one where your family slows down long enough to enjoy being together.
Years from now, your children probably won’t remember how many attractions you rode.
But they’ll remember racing you down a waterslide.
They’ll remember eating ice cream while sitting on the edge of the pool.
They’ll remember laughing when Florida’s afternoon thunderstorm forced everyone to run for cover.
And they’ll remember Dad smiling in the lounge chair—not because the vacation was perfect, but because everyone was together.
That’s what this guide has really been about all along.
Not finding the best pool.
Finding the best place to make memories.
💙 Dad’s Take
The best Disney vacations aren’t measured by how many rides you checked off your list. They’re measured by the moments when nobody is looking at a clock. When the kids don’t want to leave the pool. When Mom is relaxing with a book. When Dad finally puts the phone down.Because someday, those ordinary afternoons by the pool will become the memories your family treasures most.
